Comments: To whom it may concern: I am writing to you
with some level of disappointment and much disgust. I purchased a jar of your CLASSICO -
Florentine spinach and cheese today at our local grocery store. I prepared our dinner
adding only an onion, a clove of garlic and lean ground beef. About 30 minutes later
we ate dinner in which I found, a hard substance, resembling a bone of some kind, where as
I bit down I hurt my gums. I don't think that I could purchase your product again
without fear of something in the sauce that is not included on the list of ingredients.
My 10year old son however was extremely disgusted and tramatized in my finding the
unknown particle, and, that I am keeping it for evidence until I hear a response from you.
I expect my money back. I also expect an explanation of what this particle could be
and your findings after testing.
I have been a devoted customer for many years of quite a few of your products. It is
with a level of fear and deep concern that I am writing this, in consideration to all of
what is being found in our food products these days. I look forward to an immediate
response to this letter. Sincerely, Sheryl Durant

Why is it we have come to accept being mislead by these larger potato chip companies. Now,
I realize that we are charged by the weight, but is it painting a true picture when we buy
150g+ bay of chips only to find the bag is 1/4 filled with chips, the rest being air. Come
on, give us a break. Why not just put the product in a smaller bag, so it is filled at
least 3/4 or more. Marketing at work. Let the people "think" they are getting
more with a "large" bag. This is unacceptable because if a soda pop company did
the same, we would be outraged (buying a can of pop, only to find 1/4 of the can contains
the product. It would not be allowed. Now, I know there is some excuse, however, why is
it, that cheesies, ring chips, and variety bags are filled by at least 4/5th of the bag,
they all have to stay fresh and avoid being crushed ! At least here, you can see what you
are buying and paying for. Is it because they are in a see-through bag, you guys can't get
away with it like you can when selling potato chips. In closing, there are marketing
technics, then there is misleading, and I feel the companies are, by choice, misleading
the public when marketing the larger (150g+) bag of potato chips.

I just want to comment on the false advertisement on the Ketchup chip bag. On the back of
the bag it say's and i quote "Hostess** Ketchup Potato Chips are bursting with lots
of fresh-off-the-vine tomato ketchup flavour" Now although the chips were fresh,
there was NO flavour. I repeat NO flavour! Sure there was a touch of ketchup
here-and-there, but it is said that there is a bursting amount of ketchup flavour, and
there infact is not! I would like for someone to either change the false advertisment or
add some flavor so the bag is not lying!
Thank you for your time

So I am not sure who this should go to but it is about the flavour or lak
of in the ketchup chips. I really wish that when hostess chips were taken off the shelves
in Regina sk canada that its flavour was being put in the ketchup chips from frito lay. If
anyone did Any reseach on the sales way back when they would have found out that hostess
ketchup chips out sold Old Dutch by approx 4 to one in small and or large bags/ boxes. And
probably 10 to 1 for frito lays. If any thing really could be done let me know.

Subject: Scotch Mints
I have fond memories of riding with my Grandfather in the horse and buggy, as do most of
my cousins, and eating, chewing and sucking scotch mints. I just returned from a
family reunion near Arthur, Ontario where we reminisced about this and several other
topics.
Grandpa bought them in bulk, as most candy was sold in those days, and often dumped them
in his coat pocket. They often looked more like licorice than mints but, always
tasted like mints.
I have never been able to find scotch mints in the US. I returned home with a small
supply and am now out. Do you market or ship them in/to the US and more specifically
in or near Duluth, Minnesota?

To Santa Maria Foods; Regarding your San Daniele Deli Prosciutto-
Your new packaging is very convenient, however, it appears to have changed the taste of
the proscuitto. It is much more moist, almost the consistency of boiled ham. I would trade
the convenience for the taste of the original prosciutto.

Subject: Scotch Mints
Dear Madam/Sir,
I am a dedicated Scotch Mint eater, I go through a bag or so ever two days. In the
last six weeks there have been some quality control problems. The problems I have
encountered are;
1) flavour, some packages look like white scotch Mints but tasted like Green Mints I have
run into both full and mixed packages.
2) The main reason I love Dare mints, is the chewy centre, in the past four weeks, I have
been running into packages that do not have chewy centre's, this is very disappointing.
Could you please look into these problems, as it takes away from the great pleasure
I get, from eating Dare Scotch mints with chewy centres. Thank you for your time.

To whom it may concern: You used to have an imitation butter flavoured salt and I can't
find it any where. It isn't listed on your web site anywhere so I assume you no longer
make it. I found it invaluable when I was dieting and am about to diet again and would
kill for a few bottles of it. It's hard to give up butter and I will always use salt so it
is perfect for my vegies. I haven't found any other products that even come close in
taste. If you have any left, stashed in a back corner of your warehouse, I would really
like to buy some from you. Please contact me at this e-mail address and let me know.

Dear Customer Service, I just opened a can of your 7.5fl oz (213ml) Hunt's Tomato Sauce
and it exploded over everything as soon as I punctured a hole in the can with my electric
can opener. What a mess. It squirt accross my kitchen, all over my curtains, my shirt, and
my white kitchen cabinets. It was just awful. I have washed my curtains and shirt after
spraying it with a stain remover and I just hope it comes clean. My shirt is light blue,
and it is new. I received it for Christmas. I am very upset, and wanted to telephone you,

I love buttered popcorn but I have very high cholesterol (324) so have to stay away from
fat/carbohydrate combinations as much as possible. I just finished reading about some new
products coming out soon that contain plant stanols and sterols. These products (Take
Heart cereals: Honey Nut, Vanilla Almond, and snack bars: Chocolate Chunk, Apple Cinnamon,
Raisin Spice, and fruit juices: Orange Citrus, Mixed Berry) are supposed to drop total
cholesterol as much as 19% and bad LDL cholesterol up to 24% (American Journal of Clinical
Nutrition,June 1, 1999) Bright idea! Why can't the "butter" in buttered popcorn
be made with these same ingredients and, therefore, protect my heart as I munch happily on
the popcorn, guilt and worry free! If, perchance, there is already a popcorn being sold
with these wonderfully heart-safe ingredients would you please let me know ASAP? I look
forward to hearing from you, Cosima Hopper

Subject: re: ingredients
Hello there. I came across this site while searching for web pages for potato chip
manufacturers. I have one question about the ingredients that I have yet to find an answer
for. Is the salt used in making potato chips iodized? I am doing a search of prepackaged
foods because a family members was recently diagnosed with a goiter. Goiters used to be
common many years ago because of a lack of iodine in our diets. Iodized table salt
virtually put an end to goiters but according to one health worker goiters are now making
a comeback. Sea salt is being used as an alternative salt and it lacks the iodine. I am
curious to know if the salt used in these foods is iodized. Many of us have taken the salt
content in these prepackaged foods into account when looking at our overall diet. If the
salt is not iodized then that is another factor that must be taken into account when
looking at the total amount of salt in our diet. Any information you could provide would
be greatly appreciated. Thank You Cheryl Charette
